Teachers Group want Access to Students Data Restricted

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The (deputy) secretary-general of the Indonesian Independent Teachers Federation, Yanti Sriyulianti, asked that only students’ parents or guardians, school, and authorities from the board of education be allowed to have complete access to the National Student Identification (NISN). “The data on the website should only include the student’s name and number, and the school’s address,” Yanti told Tempo yesterday.
Yanti said, however, that the data was important in providing transparency and accountability, particularly those relating with the operations of schools and funding assistance.
